Turner Investment Partners introduces Turner Spectrum multi-manager strategy, 11.3.08 BERWYN, Pa., November 3, 2008 -- On November 1, Turner Investment Partners introduced a multi-manager long/short investment strategy, Turner Spectrum, composed of five existing Turner long/short stock strategies designed to take advantage of both rising and falling stock prices. The investment goal of the Turner Spectrum strategy is to seek long-term capital appreciation. With Turner Spectrum, Turner seeks to provide the diversification benefits of a multi-manager strategy without the extra layer of fees. Turner Spectrum consists of these long/short strategies:
Each of these five strategies is intended to generally represent about 20% of Turner Spectrum’s total holdings. Annually, on December 31, in an effort to enhance Turner Spectrum’s return potential as market conditions change, each strategy will be rebalanced equally to a 20% weighting. Turner Spectrum, as a portfolio of long/short strategies, can offer greater investment flexibility than is possible with traditional long/only stock portfolios. Based in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, and founded in 1990, Turner manages more than $22 billion in assets, as of September 30, 2008, in growth, value, core, quantitative, and alternative investments for institutions and individuals. The underlying strategies of Turner Spectrum seek to capitalize on declining stocks in their short positions and use leverage in their long positions to amplify the results of rising stocks. They hold long positions in stocks that Turner believes have superior earnings prospects and short positions in stocks that Turner believes have a deteriorating earnings outlook.
