Eric Turner joins Turner Investment Partners as security analyst, 6.4.09

BERWYN, Pa., June 4, 2009 -- Eric Turner has been named a security analyst covering consumer stocks in the Growth Equity Investing Team at Turner Investment Partners, an employee-owned investment firm.

In this position Mr. Turner, 23, conducts fundamental research about companies in the consumer-discretionary and consumer-staples sectors of the stock market for the firm’s institutional growth-stock portfolios, managed accounts, and mutual funds. Based in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, Turner was founded in 1990 and, as of March 31, 2009, manages more than $14 billion in stocks in growth, international, core, value, quantitative, and alternative investments for institutions and individuals.

Mr. Turner is one of 21 members of Turner's Growth Equity Investing Team, which is organized into five analyst teams that are assigned to oversee the market sectors for the firm’s growth-stock portfolios. Such a sector orientation is a distinguishing aspect of Turner's growth-stock investment process. The teams cover their market sectors across all capitalization ranges and make investment recommendations on stocks in those sectors.

Mr. Turner reports to William C. McVail, senior portfolio manager/security analyst. He succeeds Jillian Batten, who had been on medical leave since February and is not returning to work at the firm.

The son of Robert E. Turner, chairman and chief investment officer of the firm, Mr. Turner in 2008 graduated cum laude from the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza School of Business, earning a bachelor’s degree in finance.

He comes to Turner from the Investment Banking Division’s Financial Institutions Group at Goldman Sachs. His duties there included providing financing alternatives to insurance companies, developing corporate plans for divestitures, and advising financial companies on their strategic options.

He has relocated from New York to the Philadelphia area, where Turner is based.
